Paper Towns - John Green

From Goodreads:
When Margo Roth Spiegelman beckons Quentin Jacobsen in the middle of the night—dressed like a ninja and plotting an ingenious campaign of revenge—he follows her. Margo’s always planned extravagantly, and, until now, she’s always planned solo. After a lifetime of loving Margo from afar, things are finally looking up for Q . . . until day breaks and she has vanished. Always an enigma, Margo has now become a mystery. But there are clues. And they’re for Q.

I'd never read anything by John Green and I must admit I only bought this one because it was the Kindle Daily Deal but I'm so glad I did. Although it's not what I usually read I found I really enjoyed it and couldn't put it down. I'll definitely pick up another book by John Green now.

The Further Adventures of Sherlock Holmes: The Peerless Peer
                - Philip Jose Farmer

So, Goodreads doesn't have a description for this book and neither does Amazon so I'll try and do my best to describe it. Combining Sherlock Holmes and Tarzan in one story, the Peerless Peer is set in the Wold Newton universe. I had never heard of the Wold Newton universe before but I am pretty excited about it now. I've even bought another book by a different author set in this universe.
This book sees Sherlock Holmes and Watson travel to Africa to try and retrieve a bacteria strain that could be used in warfare. After being attacked and forced off course they stumble upon Lord Greystoke in the African jungle.
I'm a big fan of Philip Jose Farmer, as maybe evident in this challenge, and although this is not my favourite book of his I enjoyed the story and the concept.

I'm now on 32/50 books which makes me six ahead. The book I've just started is a heavyweight though so I think it may take me a couple of weeks. As always you can follow what I'm reading over on Goodreads.
