Our Anniversary Weekend

 

 

We had such a lovely weekend to celebrate our first anniversary. We kept it pretty low key but it was nice just to spend time together. We bought Halo 4 as a little anniversary present to ourselves so Saturday was pretty much spent playing that together. Saturday night was full of beer, party food and Halo 4 and we actually saw in our anniversary before we went to sleep. When we woke on the Sunday we had sparkling wine that was left over from the wedding as well as cake we’d bought from the same patisserie that provided our wedding cakes. After a little more Halo we headed out for an autumnal walk in the sunshine before popping in a pub that we’ve been going to since the beginning of our relationship. To finish off the day we went to a Thai restaurant that was also the scene of one of our first dates.
All in all it was a fun trip down memory lane whilst discussing the future that we have together. What more could I ask for out of an anniversary?

Halfway through my 366

I'm now over halfway though my 366 of 2012 and I'm pretty happy with how it's going. Some days I'm still struggling to remember to take a photo and more than once I've found myself jumping out of bed and running around like a crazy woman trying to find something to take a photo of before I fall asleep. But on the whole I'm really happy that I've stuck with it. I haven't missed a day yet and I'm so excited at the thought of the finished product. I'm going to combine all of the photos with the notes I've written into a book to give Matt as a gift. We'll always have a reminder of our first year of married life and that is definitely worth all of the effort now.

Bath and West Show

 When Matt and I got married last year we decided that we wanted our first year of marriage to be filled with lots of random little adventures. Things that we hadn't done before or wanted to experience together. This idea has seen us going to the New Forest and the Kapow Comic Convention amongst others already this year. Our most recent trip was to the Bath and West show this week. I'd never been to that sort of thing before and although the weather wasn't great we ended up having a really good time.

I really do not look good here but hey any photo of my Grandma and I is a good photo, right?

We spent ages wandering around taking everything in. We had hog roast for lunch whilst watching some horse boarding in the main ring. I had never even heard of horse boarding but it turns out it's pretty fun to watch.

I didn't really take too many photos of the rest of the day because I was too busy soaking it all up. We wandered around all of the stalls, visited the animals, drank local cider whilst watching show jumping and enjoyed the art exhibit and florist competitions. It was so much fun and I really enjoyed the day spent with my Grandma and my husband. Here's the rest of my photos from the day....

Saturday Adventure 12th May

In celebration of our 0.5 anniversary we decided to head to the seaside for the day. So we got up early, headed out for breakfast before hopping on a train to Weston Super Mare. I've lived in Bath for nearly six years now but I've never been to Weston and seeing as being by the sea always puts me in a good mood (it comes from growing up on the coast) Weston Super Mare seemed like a good destination for our Saturday adventure.

The weather decided to behave for the day and although it wasn't hot it was sunny so we could sit on the beach, wander along the coast and eat chips on the pier. We played in the arcades for a while and then ate greasy doughnuts before heading home. It was a perfect day!

6 Months Ago

 We were getting married! I can't believe that it's already been 6 months, before I know it we'll be celebrating our first anniversary. Today marks our 0.5 wedding anniversary. I made Matt this little card to mark the occasion and we're off adventuring for the weekend to celebrate as long as it doesn't rain (please don't rain). I'm sure we won't celebrate every 6 months of marriage but it's exciting to be entering the second half of our first year as husband and wife. I could go on and on about how much I love him and how lucky I am to have him but no one wants to hear that but him. Let's just say I do and I am.
