Gibraltar

I'm really late in posting this since we went on holiday in September but I really wanted the pictures on here. I went away with my Mum and Grandma to Gibraltar and it was lovely. The weather was beautiful and it was just awesome to have a week away relaxing and spending time with two of my favourite people. We actually lived in Gibraltar for a few years when I was a baby so although I don't really remember it it holds many happy memories for my Mum and Grandma.
We spent most of our days wandering around and sight seeing and our evenings were usually spent out eating and then retreating to our balcony to enjoy a few drinks, each others company and beautiful sunsets like these....

I don't know what else to say about the holiday except that I really had a lovely time. I am so lucky to have such an amazing Mum and a wonderful Grandma. Since I now live a couple of hours away from them, I don't get to see them as much as I like but a week in Gibraltar provided me with a hundred new memories of them to cherish. So I'll finish this post with a few more photos of us making memories....

Sunday Adventure 16.10

I had to go away for a few days on Monday so we decided to head out somewhere to spend some time together Sunday before I went. Lacock had an 'Apple Day' event so we decided to head there. The weather was unseasonably warm and lovely which was lucky as the event was outside. The place was really busy but after queuing for a little while we chose some yummy cider to taste, grabbed a hay bale and listened to some live music.
This is us enjoying the cider. We went for two different varieties so we could share and both were awesome. After sitting on our bale for a while, enjoying the atmosphere and getting broody we decided to head away from the crowds and look around the abbey.
We've been before but it had actually changed quite a lot in the last year. Unfortunately we were never too far from the crowds but we had fun anyway. I only managed to get a couple of photos inside though...
Before we headed back to the car we decided to walk around the grounds a bit. As I said the weather was glorious for October and I couldn't resist snapping a few more photos in appreciation.
Although the quality isn't great I really love how they came out with the sun flare. They're the kind of photos that make me smile to look at and that's the most important thing to me. Hope your Sundays were as lovely as mine...

A Birthday Box for my Brother

It was my 'little' brothers birthday yesterday and since he doesn't live near me I posted his present to him. As I was choosing a present I decided why stop there? So I sent him a little birthday party in a box....

I packed balloons, banners, a badge, candles and I baked him a cake. Here's a snapshot of all the contents together...
I was really happy about how it turned out and I think my brother enjoyed it. He said it even managed to get there in one piece, including that cake. I was damn happy about that!

Our Home...

I'm trying to document this flat. This is the first flat Matt and I have lived in together...it will always remain our first home and although we're not planning on moving just yet I want photos that remind me of the time spent living in it, not of packing and leaving. I'm starting with the hallway...those are the stairs that mark the entrance to our flat...not very exciting for you guys but for me it reminds of rushing up them to see Matt after a weekend away or him hanging his head over the banister to say one last goodbye before I head off to work.

A Rare Friday Adventure...

We had a Friday adventure! Matt had had to work the Saturday before so he was given the Friday off instead. We decided to head into Bristol and wander round some museums because the weather was pretty bad. We travelled in on the train and headed to M Shed which is a new museum all about Bristol and the people that live/have lived there. I really enjoyed the view from the top of the building....

We took our obligatory cheesy couple photo up there as well...
I look really freckly in that photo for some reason but hey, I like it. I didn't really get many more photos that day. I don't know why but maybe I was just enjoying a rare Friday adventure. I took a couple more shots in M Shed which I just couldn't resist taking....

I love how these turned out. After we'd finished at M Shed we headed up to the Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery. On the way we stopped off at Nandos for some lunch and by the time we got to the museum they were only open for another hour and a half. We headed straight up to the art gallery part because it was much quieter up there and we just spent time wandering together, enjoying each others company and appreciating the rare treat of a weekday together...I wish all Fridays could be like that.

Sunday Adventure 07.08

It's been a while since we had a proper Sunday adventure. I've started working some weekends and combined with our massive list of jobs to do has meant that we haven't had much chance to get out for the day. For this adventure we decided to head out for a nice long walk and then head to a pub for a Sunday roast and a pint. Perfect Sunday if you ask me. The weather was pretty good as we set out and we spent ages frolicking in this field taking pictures before we realised we hadn't actually walked anywhere yet. This meant we rushed through most of our walk because the weather started to turn and I didn't get many more photos taken. So to start here is the field...

We walked through a small woodland in order to get to the top of the hill that had a beautiful view. The weather was getting pretty bad by this point but we still stopped, sat down, took it in and snapped some photos. Matt even managed to glimpse some lightening in the distance. Unfortunately I missed it though but that didn't stop me from holding my camera up for about 10 minutes in the hope that I'd be able to catch it on camera. I failed but I did get a nice photo anyway....
There was just time for a couple of cheesy couple shots before the heavens opened and we ran for the car. We were soaked through but luckily a pint and a roast made it all better...

And that's another Sunday over....
I may not be the most domesticated woman but I promise to always make you cupcakes.
