Matt's Birthday

March 13th is this handsome man’s birthday. It was a good day. For some reason I felt a lot of pressure to make this birthday good for him. I felt that now I was his wife it was all down to me. I don’t know why I felt like this but I do know that I enjoy making him happy and I enjoyed planning his birthday and presents.
We started the day with cake in bed for breakfast. It’s a little tradition we started accidentally the first year we were together and neither of us have had a birthday since that didn’t start with cake.

Cake is enjoyed and then we usually get to the presents. I forgot to take photos of all of them but he’s a selection of his presents from me this year.

Once present opening was finished with we headed out to do a little shopping before we headed to Jamie’s Italian for lunch. We had the £15 feast they offer and there was so much food. It was really funny seeing them keep bringing dishes out and it was good to pick at different things whilst chatting and sharing a bottle of wine.

After lunch we headed to the cinema to watch John Carter but obviously I have no photos of that. The film was pretty good, nothing spectacular but fun to watch. So there you have it, Matt’s 37th birthday.

New Forest

So last weekend we headed to the New Forest to celebrate Matt’s birthday with family. It was awesome. The weather was unseasonably good and the landscape was truly beautiful. I am no happier than when I’m surrounded by nature and it seemed to be just what I needed. I know that it was for Matt’s birthday but I enjoyed it so much. On Saturday we decided we’d hire bikes and cycle through the New Forest in the sunshine. I literally can’t remember the last time I was on a bike, it must have been almost 10 years ago, so I was pretty nervous to begin with. I soon relaxed though and now I’m hooked. If I could cycle through pretty countryside everyday I most definitely would.

I think Matt really enjoyed the cycling as well even if we got a little lost and a little muddy. That probably made it more fun. I was so sore the next day though especially between my legs which let me tell you is not enjoyable. So Sunday we decided to travel by foot instead of by bike. We headed off on a little walk which would end with a pub garden, a Sunday roast and a pint of cider…perfect.
